Introducing the Personal Effects Cardholder, ideal if you find a large wallet too cumbersome. Our cardholder is handmade from robust full-grain British leather, the leather is tanned traditionally for 12 months using oak bark at the last remaining traditional tannery in Britain.

The owners of our East London-based leather makers have each worked for manufacturers that hold a Royal Warrant. They now offer their combined expertise as specialists in traditional leather craftwork, bringing individual experience in engraving, bridle, equestrian and ornate goods — and boasting remarkable royal and parliamentary connections to boot. A trip to their factory is like wandering through a colossal cabinet of curiosities, where human industry means the animal kingdom, and colourful chaos bows to exquisite technique. Our card holder is a beautiful testament to their practice.
The only oak bark tannery in Britain, the creator of our card holders is a distinguished family-run business in Devon, spanning five generations. With this vast and unrivalled experience, they employ traditional methods alongside modern machinery to craft items of a singular quality. They choose the best local hides and treat them in a sustainable process using natural products. Expert curriers finish each piece by hand with a special blend of oils which protects the leather whilst emphasising its original character. Creating leathers that are hard-wearing, distinctive and visually gratifying, this tannery was the natural choice for a truly personal effect.
Each of our leather cardholders are finished by hand with a 23K gold foiled emboss.
This process may take more time but it allows us to reduce waste, maintain a consistently high level of quality, and engage in personal relationships with each of our suppliers. We hope this will translate into personal effects that will become part of your identity over continued time and use.
