Float Jacket
The Float Jacket is Personal Effects' take on the classic Harrington, inspired by the summer uniforms of iconic American milk float drivers. The jacket features two front angled welt pockets and one buttoned breast flap pocket.
EFFECT( )

Personal Effects was built on the desire to fashion impeccably constructed clothes in our home city of London. Our manufacturing partner’s North London atelier is a bustling environment where exceptional quality is sustained by a wealth of specialist wisdom accumulated over extraordinary, lifelong careers.
Focusing solely on the production of fine tailoring and high-end, UK-made clothing, these meticulous makers possess a deep, holistic understanding of cloth — bringing incredible sensitivity to garment construction. We feel privileged to work with this small, family-owned business and benefit from their unparalleled expertise and craft.

Based in the Cotswolds, our partners are the only natural button makers in the UK, a talented collective driven by their values of creativity, heritage and ecological production. Specialising in legacy techniques that had all but disappeared from a once vibrant UK industry, they use exclusively natural materials such as Corozo, milk casein (Codelite) and horn to craft their wares. By collaborating on Personal Effects, we’re pleased to be part of reviving the craft of button making in the UK.
“This garment comes from a small run of similar items, crafted by hand in London, England. It is personal to you and those who made it.”
You’ll find this label sewn into every one of our products, alongside a number detailing its order within a limited run. This is more than just a gesture; it’s the ethos that guides our practices as a business, and our interactions with our customers.
Personal Effects garments and accessories are crafted as essential, singular pieces — designed to be worn and enjoyed, and made to last and keep forever. They’re constructed with care and genuine consideration for every individual detail.
