Our cotton mill, a heritage business based in the beautiful Calder Valley, has been manufacturing fustian fabrics since 1858. Specialising in the production of corduroy, moleskin and cotton fabrics, their approach blends expertise gathered over 150 years with a desire for sustainable innovation — even using yarns sourced and woven locally on traditional Lancashire looms. We rely on their extensive industry knowledge to provide the very best cotton fabrics for our collections.

Based in the Cotswolds, our partners are the only natural button makers in the UK, a talented collective driven by their values of creativity, heritage and ecological production. Specialising in legacy techniques that had all but disappeared from a once vibrant UK industry, they use exclusively natural materials such as Corozo, milk casein (Codelite) and horn to craft their wares. This commitment also feeds into their polishing processes, wielding volcanic ash and wooden pegs in traditional barrels to produce the finest possible result. By collaborating on Personal Effects, we’re pleased to be part of reviving the craft of button making in the UK.
